Mineral rights

Since 2016, REN has held exploration permits at Fen covering an area of 6,5 km² including approximately 90% of the REE-bearing iron-dolomite carbonatite (FDC). Following the 2021 and 2022 drilling campaigns, subsequent geochemical analysis work and beneficiation tests, REN was awarded extraction permits by The Directorate of Mining in September 2023. The extraction permits cover the FDC and has an area of 3,2 km². The remaining 3,3 km² is still held as exploration permits. Extraction permits enables the holder to apply for an Operating Licence, which must be obtained before actual mining can commence. The figure below shows the extent of the extraction permits.
